Brief:
Created the packaging design for Winter White Whiskey, a seasonal, limited-edition clear whiskey. The design needed to feel special and distinct while staying true to the winery and distillery’s overarching brand identity. The initial concept featured a nearly transparent label with tactile frost-like details to complement the clear spirit, aiming to evoke a crisp, wintery feel.

Goals:
Develop a label design that highlights the seasonal nature of the product and conveys a sense of winter luxury.
Integrate tactile elements to create a compelling physical experience, aligning with the brand’s commitment to high-touch design.
Ensure the design remains cohesive with the brand’s visual identity while standing out as a unique, limited-edition offering.
Collaborate with the printing partner to push material and production boundaries for the best execution of the concept.
Adapt the design to account for practical production considerations without losing the original creative intent.
What I Learned:
This project reinforced the importance of flexibility and collaboration in design. While the original clear-label concept captured the vision beautifully, the practical realities of bottle manufacturing introduced unforeseen challenges. Working closely with our printing partner, I learned to pivot effectively—discovering how alternative materials like 80# Moonlight paper could achieve a similar tactile effect through debossing. This experience deepened my understanding of production processes and materials, showing that creative problem-solving can lead to even stronger design outcomes when you're open to evolving the concept.
